Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the expected cost of your care before your first appointment and upon request at any time.

What is a Good Faith Estimate? A Good Faith Estimate is a written notice of the expected cost of services. It includes the estimated cost of the services you are expected to receive, based on your specific situation and treatment needs. It is not a contract and does not require you to obtain services from this provider.

Who is entitled to a Good Faith Estimate? You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate if you are uninsured or if you are choosing to pay out-of-pocket (self-pay) for services, regardless of whether you have insurance.

What should I do with my Good Faith Estimate? Keep a copy in a safe place. You can use it to compare against any bills you receive. If your final bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.
